Lars Cleveman, tenor, made his international début in the title role of Othello at the opera house in Kiel in 2004; in Scandinavia, Lars Cleveman made his début as Gustavo in Un Ballo in Maschera by Verdi at the Royal Danish Theatre in Copenhagen as early as 2001.
From 1998-2009, Cleveman was employed at the Royal Swedish Opera in Stockholm where he sang a number of major roles including Otello, Parsifal, Don Carlos, Hoffmann in The Adventures of Hoffmann, Grigoriy in Boris Godunov, Froh in Das Rheingold, Erik in The Flying Dutchman, the title role in Werther, Don José in Carmen, Pinkerton in Madame Butterfly, Des Grieux in Manon Lescaut, the Duke in Rigoletto, Cavaradossi in Tosca, Manrico in Il Trovatore, Siegfried in Siegfried and in Götterdämmerung, and Samson in Samson et Dalila. Recently the title role in Andrea Chénier and in Stiffelio. At the Göteborg Opera in 2013, he sang Tristan in Tristan and Isolde.
Abroad, he has sung roles including Siegmund in Die Walküre in Stuttgart, Gustavo in Un Ballo in Maschera, Des Grieux in Manon Lescaut and Manrico in Il Trovatore at the Copenhagen Opera House, the title roles of Otello and Parsifal in Kiel, Siegfried in Götterdämmerung in Zürich and as Tristan at Covent Garden. His most recent engagements include singing Siegfried at the Metropolitan in New York and a concert performance of Parsifal in the Albert Hall in London.
