Katarina Hollá

Katarina Hollá, costume designer, has a Master’s in Costume Design from the Academy of Performing Arts in her home city of Prague, and works as a costume designer in film, theatre and opera.

Her first assignment at the Göteborg Opera involved designing the costumes for Alban Berg’s opera Lulu in 2002, following which she was responsible for the costume design in three operas directed by David Radok, Don Giovanni, Jan Sandström’s opera K. Description of a Struggle and Macbeth. Other opera commitments with David Radok include Katarina Izmailova at Prague’s National Theatre, The Magic Flute on six different opera stages in Japan and Cinderella at the Royal Danish Theatre in Copenhagen.

In theatre she has been involved in over a hundred productions on a number of different stages, including the National Theatres in Prague and Bratislava, the Nordic Black Theatre in Oslo, the State Theatre in Košice and Teatro Tatro in Slovakia.Katarina Hollá has been involved in some thirty major Czech film productions, including with the directors Jan Sverák in the Oscar-winning film Kolya in 1997, and Jan Hrebejk in the Oscar-nominated Divided We Fall, 2000.
