Karolina Andersson

Karolina Andersson received the greater part of her training at the University College of Opera in Göteborg, where she qualified in 2007. She has performed roles such as The Queen of the Night and Pamina in The Magic Flute, Miss Wordsworth in Albert Herring, Blondchen in The Abduction from the Seraglio, Lucy in Telefonen (The Telephone) and La Stonatrilla in L’Opera seria as well as two world premieres: Annette in Faust by Philippe Fénelon and Ophelia in Hamlet by Christina Jost.

From 2007 to 2009 she was employed at Komische Oper in Berlin and has also been engaged at The Royal Swedish Opera, Staatsoper in Berlin, Théâtre du Capitole Toulouse, Nationaltheater Mannheim, Drottningholm Castle Theatre, Fäviken Opera, Läckö Castle Theatre, NorrlandsOperan and Göteborgs Stadsteater.

Karolina Andersson is also frequently engaged as a soloist in oratorios and concerts. In 2007 she was awarded the Royal Musical Academy’s Christina Nilsson scholarship.

The Queen of the Night in The Magic Flute is her debut at the Göteborg Opera. After that she will be playing the parts of Annette in Faust at the Opéra Bastille in Paris and Gilda in Rigoletto at the Komische Oper in Berlin.
