Guy Weizman / Roni Haver
Guy Weizman and Roni Haver are both Israeli choreographers based in the Netherlands. The recurring theme is personal liberation of the individual in different political and social contexts. The movement vocabulary is innovative and raw and the result is often an intriguing, seductive and dynamic performances. They focus their work on contemporary topics. As dancers Haver and Weizman worked with: Ohad Naharin at Batsheva Ensemble in Tel Aviv, Juan Carlos Garcia at Lanonima Imperial in Barcelona, Wim Vandekeybus in Ultima Vez in Brussels (only Roni Haver) and Itzik Galili at Galili Dance in Amsterdam/Groningen.
In 2002, they founded Club Guy & Roni. The Club creates and tours several productions, all produced in the Netherlands. Club Guy & Roni brings together dancers and other artists from around the world. The Club collaborates with artists from other disciplines such as music, film, theater, science and fashion. The Club is a popular guest at international festivals in, among others – Madrid, Rome, Tallinn, Berlin, Marseille and Frankfurt. The Club also performed at the prestigious American Jacob's Pillow Festival, and the Grec Festival in Barcelona. Site specific performances are presented yearly in festivals such as the Oerol Festival on Terschelling island. The cast of dancers is award wining, and is characterized by high physical capability and strong stage personalities.
