Elisabet Strid started her international career as Elisabeth in Stefan Herheim’s Tannhäuser production at the National Opera Oslo 2010. Since then, the soprano embodied this role at the Semperoper Dresden, in Dusseldorf and Tampere. She made her debut at the Bayreuth Festival as Freia. At the Riga National Opera she was the Sieglinde, Gutrune and Irene, at the Leipzig Opera she sang Freia, Ada in Die Feen and Brünnhilde in Siegfried. Brünnhilde she also performed in Budapest.
Other engagements have brought her among others to Antwerp, Helsinki, Gothenburg, Mexico, Cape Town as Nyssia, Rusalka, Giorgetta and Cho-Cho-san.
Her successful US- debut she made as Senta in Detroit and performed this very role in Dusseldorf, in gala performances at the May Festival Wiesbaden, the Wagner-days Budapest and the Festival at the Amphitheatre Plovdiv.
Elisabet is a sought after concert singer and sang a. o. with the Swedish Radio Orchestra, the OFUNAM-Orchestra Mexico, the Gothenburg and Stuttgart Philharmonic Orchestras, the Düsseldorf and Stockholm Symphony Orchestras with conductors such as Lorin Maazel, Andris Nelsons, Axel Kober, Ivan Anguélov, Kent Nagano, Ádam Fischer.
2016 she made her debut as Chrysothemis in Helsinki and sang this very role at the Baltic Sea Festival Stockholm.
2017 she will sing her first Salome in Leipzig and debuts at the Chicago Lyric Opera as Sieglinde.
