Court Singer Elin Rombo, soprano trained at Brandon University Queen Elizabeth II School of Music in Canada and at the University College of Opera in Stockholm.
Elin Rombo has sung many roles at the Royal Swedish Opera in Stockholm, such as Susanna in The Marriage of Figaro, Musetta in La Bohème, Blanche in Dialogues des Carmélites and the young Batseba in the first performance of Sven-David Sandström's opera Batseba. She made an acclaimed début at the Salzburg Festival in the summer of 2009 in the leading role in Luigi Nono's Al Gran Sole Carico d'Amore and returned in the same production when it was staged at the Berlin State Opera. Her roles at the opera in Frankfurt have included Servilia in La Clemeza di Tito, Pamina in The Magic Flute and Zerlina in Don Giovanni. Recently, Elin Rombo sang the leading role of Agnès in George Benjamin's newly composed work Written on Skin at De Nederlandse Opera in Amsterdam. She has worked with conductors such as Riccardo Muti, Sir Colin Davis and Daniel Harding. Elin Rombo has reached a wide audience through her many appearances on Sveriges Television (SVT). She was a soloist at the christening of Princess Estelle in the Royal Palace Chapel in Stockholm, and recently, at the Stockholm Concert Hall, the Swedish Parliament Jubilee Concert for King Carl XVI Gustaf, to celebrate His Majesty's 40 years on the throne.
