Anders Lorentzson, bass-baritone was soloist at the Royal Swedish Opera in Stockholm for nine years before being engaged by the Göteborg Opera. Among his many roles at the Göteborg Opera are the title roles in The Marriage of Figaro and Der fliegende Holländer, Leporello in Don Giovanni, Baron Scarpia in Tosca, don Prudenzio in The Journey to Reims, Colline in La Bohème, Basilio in The Barber of Seville, the Doctor in Wozzeck, the Wanderer in Siegfried, Javert in Les Misérables, Geronte in Manon Lescaut, Osmin in Il Seraglio, Count Waldner in Arabella, Méphistophélès in Faust, Frank in Die Fledermaus, Martin Zapater in Goya, Hans Sachs in Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg and Philip II in Don Carlos. His interpretations of Baron von Ochs in Der Rosenkavalier, Wotan in Die Walküre, Banco in Macbeth and the title role in Falstaff have been among those that have attracted most attention.
Anders Lorentzson's latest roles at the Göteborg Opera include Raimondo in Lucia di Lammermoor, the title role in Attila (concert performance), Baron Scarpia in Tosca, Astolfo in Lucrezia Borgia, the Water Goblin in Rusalka, and Jacopo Fiesco in Simon Boccanegra.
In 2007, he made a guest appearance at Vilnius Opera, in Lithuania, as Wotan in Die Walküre as he did during their summer tour to Ljubljana in Slovenia and the Ravenna Festival in Italy.
