Anders Eljas, studied at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. He started his career as a keyboard player on tour with Björn Skifs and ABBA on all their world tours – Australia, Europe, U.S., Canada and Japan. He worked early on with arrangements for recordings with a variety of well-known Swedish artists as well as a producer at CBS Records (now Sony Music). In the early 80s he orchestrated the music for the musical Chess, and conducted the London Symphony Orchestra at the disc recording, as well as during the European tour in 1984. At the first performance of Kristina from Duvemåla in Malmö in 1995, Eljas was responsible for the orchestration and was Musical Director and Conductor, as well as at the productions at the Göteborg Opera and in Stockholm. At the Swedish première of Chess in Stockholm, Eljas was Musical Director and Principal Conductor.
Over the years, Anders has also conducted musicals such as Les Misérables and Guys and Dolls and performed with Povel Ramel as a conductor in many of his revues. During 2009, he was Musical Director and Principal Conductor for Mamma Mia! in Norwegian, performed at Folketeateret in Oslo. In recent years, Eljas has devoted more and more time to conducting. He has performed with the majority of our most established symphony orchestras in the Nordic region, with a number of productions having been broadcast on television.
