There is a very particular Nordic humour and a Nordic heritage. You can break traditions, precisely because you are so aware of them. The Swedish dance scene is very diverse; this country has produced an enormous amount of artistic works for such a small country."

”Dance is a microcosm of events in society and the wider world. Contemporary art will show future generations what values we used to have, what conflicts we used to deal with, and what we dreamed of. Because of this we have to invest in the artistic perspectives of our time. Dance only exists at a given moment, each performance is unique. That experience - the experience of participating in the art itself, becoming a part of it - is something that you won't get by watching Youtube or buying a DVD. The art, the dance, is alive. What happens is beyond the rational, the intellectual, the reachable. Watching dance will move you."
