We’re celebrating European Opera Days on 6 May

For the eleventh year in a row, opera houses all over Europe are laying on exciting activities with that little bit extra to celebrate the art of opera. The theme for this year is Panorama. We are marking the occasion on 6 May with a foyer concert, a quiz, a lecture, a singing workshop for children, guided tours and a book signing. Not to mention great deals on tickets, CDs and products in the Opera Shop!

Singing workshop for children born in 2007 and 2008. Snack and a guided tour included. Limited places available, booking essential. Learn more here

Doors open to the opera house and café. The café closes at 3pm.

Opera for dummies.

Curious but don't know much? Göran Gademan, dramaturgist at the Göteborg Opera, will hold an informative and engrossing talk about opera. Meet in the foyer outside the box office. Limited places available, so reserve a place by sending an email to by 5 May. Write "Opera for dummies" in the subject line. Drop-in possible, subject to availability.

Book signing
Göran Gademan will sign copies of his book Operahistoria (Opera History) by the box office.

Foyer concert: Panorama. A musical journey from chamber music to musicals. Opera with Carolina Sandgren (soprano), Tomas Lind (tenor) and Rut Pergament (pianist). Chamber music with the Daphne Trio: Karin Berggren (violin), Heather Leavenstein (viola) and Kerstin Andersson (cello). Musical with Marco Stella (baritone), Joakim Kallhed (pianist) and Fredrik Jacobson (presenter).
