The 2012/2013 season is here!
A new theatrical year lies ahead, filled with outstanding singers, musicians, dancers and a whole bunch of box-office success stories. Our Artistic Director Lise-Lotte Axelsson presents a season in which we will host several international stars, at the same time as many of the prominent roles will be performed by The Göteborg Opera's own soloists. For example, we can look forward to the musical Chess in Swedish, the operas Rusalka, Turandot, Tristan and Isolde and Simon Boccanegra.
Ballet Director Adolphe Binder presents an exciting dance season on the theme of Homelands & Risk Zones. With choreographers such as Sharon Eyal, Guy Weizman and Jo Strømgren, you will have a chance to experience shows created directly for the Göteborg Ballet. The dance season will also present two interpretations of the 100th anniversary of Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring, where the rebel Marie Chouinard presents one and the legendary Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch (guest performance) the other. Moreover, the dancers will continue to tour the world. Take the opportunity to see world-class modern dance at The Göteborg Opera.
