Zvea
”…a very exciting and skilful performance and an interesting look at the past…” Falköpings Tidning
It is a February night in 1986 at a hotel somewhere in Sweden. The hotel is closing down. The waitress Zvea is setting the tables in the dining room in preparation for the guests that are – hopefully – coming.
The hired musicians are tuning their instruments. In anticipation of the guests, Zvea starts telling the story of her life, of the hotel where she has worked for 50 years and of the people she has met and who in various ways have influenced her life. The story is accompanied by song and music from the 20’s up until today. The historic aspect is reinforced through authentic radio broadcasts and quotes from Swedish movies.
Playwright, director, musician and actor Rikard Bergqvist has composed this musical theater especially for the Göteborg Opera.
As Zvea we see singer and actress Ingahlill Wagelin. She is accompanied on stage by musicians Per Larsson and Richard Rolf. Richard Bergqvist himself is the director, set design was made by Thomas Sjöstedt and lighting by Björn Nilsson.
