Wonderland/ Wasteland

Dance. Down the rabbit hole. It’s surreal and realistic, weird and wonderful, poetic and untamed – all at the same time.

After the World Premiere on September 20 there will be an After Dance Party in The Göteborg Opera foyer (8:30 pm - 1:00 am). Live music and DJ. Admission is free. Age limit: 18+. The Göteborg Opera Restaurant will be open.

A’s Adventures

Creation by ANTON LACHKY

In A’s Adventure, Brussels-based choreographer Anton Lachky plays with inspiration from Alice in Wonderland. He paints a fantastic universe filled with dance among dark forests, icebergs and toilets. The pace is fast and the expression humoristic, poetic and physical. The Göteborg Opera Orchestra plays Mozart, Bach and Haydn under the direction of Max Renne.

Anton Lachkyis one of the founders of the Les SlovaKs Dance Collective in Brussels and has been running his own company since 2012.

Wasteland

Creation by INA CHRISTEL JOHANNESSEN

In Wasteland, Norwegian Ina Christel Johannessen has a whole different approach to the wonderland theme, when she depicts our escalating consumption. A wasteland created of what we leave behind in pursuit of our dreams. In an abandoned and decayed place – perhaps an old warehouse – the dancers interact with both set design and music. Belgian duo Stray Dogs perform live from their album Wasteland.

In Norway, Ina Christel Johannessen runs the Oslo-based company Zero Visibility Corp.
