TWELFTH NIGHT CONCERT AND BALL
Welcome to Vienna! Experience an unforgettable Twelfth Night at The Göteborg Opera, where this magical winter evening will be filled with treats for your eyes, ears and palate.
A welcome drink in the foyer will start off the evening prior to the tailor-made concert performed by soloists and the Göteborg Opera Orchestra. The concert will be an homage to merry Vienna: soprano Carolina Sandgren and tenor Markus Pettersson will charm you with opera, operetta and other Viennese music. The evening’s master of ceremonies will be musical artist Lars Hjertner, who can be seen in this season’s musical Crazy for You. The Göteborg Opera Orchestra will of course perform, directed by Mika Eichenholz.
During the intermission the Main Stage will be transformed into a beautifully decorated ballroom, where the Göteborg Opera’s Viennese orchestra will invite you up to dance – then they’ll hand over the baton to the Stardust Big Swing Band and their guest artists, Erik Gullbransson and Smoke Rings Sisters
Why not top off your evening with something delicious from our menus? The restaurant will offer three-course à la carte dinners, the Opera Bar will serve a delectable buffet and at our cafés you will be able to purchase everything from drinks and sandwiches to coffee and pastries. For those of you who like to roam even while eating, our mingle platter is the perfect choice. Most of the options must be pre-booked and we recommend that you arrange this well in advance to avoid disappointment as places fill up quickly!
