The Göteborg Opera Epiphany Concert and Ball is our way to celebrate the new year.
This time, we will hear fêted soprano Ida Falk Winland, who experienced her big breakthrough in Julius Caesar at the Göteborg Opera in 2008. Musical artist David Shannon joins us from London. He has previously performed the role of the Phantom in The Phantom of the Opera in the West End. Also performing will be the Dura Trio, three singing gentlemen that often appear in Göteborg Opera musicals: Tobias Ahlsell, David Lundqvist and Anders Wängdahl. The Göteborg Opera Orchestra will be conducted by Nick Davies. The Göteborg Ballet will perform an excerpt from the critically-acclaimed La La Land by Alexander Ekman, which was part of the dance evening Metamorfos 2010.
After the concert, the Göteborg Opera restaurant will serve canapés in the foyer. During the final part of the evening, the guests take over the Main Stage. The ball starts off to the sound of a Viennese waltz orchestra and then segues into a big band orchestra with soloists.
