Opera. Carl Unander-Scharin is one of Sweden’s most experienced opera composers, and has had several successes with, amongst others, the Royal Swedish Opera and the Vadstena Academy.

For this season he will be The Göteborg Opera’s composer in residence, commissioned to write the opera Sömnkliniken, based on an original text by Alexander Ahndoril.
In its thriller format Sömnkliniken revolves around today’s problems of lack of sleep and exhaustion. The work has been written for seven singers and ten musicians, and Ellen Trømborg, after her education as a director of opera, brings her first production to the stage.
