Beauty and The Beast
It is settled! The Göteborg Opera's next regional venture is the Disney musical Beauty and the Beast, with Swedish premiere during spring 2005 in the region.
After the last two successful musicals Fame and Stop the World we are very pleased to have the honour to present the Swedish premiere of this family-oriented production. It is also the first time a Disney musical is staged in Sweden!
Beauty and the Beast is already one of the most popular shows on Broadway. It has been nominated for 9 Tony Awards, e.g. Best Musical. The production has enthralled people all over the world, from London and Los Angeles to Sydney and Tokyo.
The very successful team from Fame and Stop the World is together again, director Hans Berndtsson and choreographer Gunilla Ohlsson.
