The Small Stage provides a setting where dance can continuously develop and encounter other art forms. During the spring of 2011, we present Raderna emellan (In Between the Lines), a production where the languages of dance and theatre complement each other. The production will also tour the Västra Götaland region.
Patrick Migas from the Göteborg Ballet developed the concept, directed the production and created the choreography. Before coming to Göteborg he worked as a dancer in Germany and also had the chance to try his hand at acting. Raderna emellan has been inspired by German theatrical traditions, in which text and staging are independent of each other. Another source of inspiration was actors from the era of silent films, who clearly illustrated both feelings and interpersonal relationships through the use of simple body language.
The ensemble of seven includes both actors and dancers. The music, which will be performed live during the performance, has been written especially for the occasion.
New music by Michael Mennell and Frida Rolfsdotter Thurfjell. Watch, listen and be inspired!
