Enough Rope

Enough Rope

Critically acclaimed performance by and with musical performer Sara Jangfeldt and a trio, based on Dorothy Parker’s writing. It is best described as a physical song monologue with a great deal of theatre. A burlesque show emphasising Dorothy Parker’s sense of humour and sarcasm. The tight trio contributes to bringing a cabaretish, jazzy feel to the performance.

Dorothy Parker was one of the most prominent figures fighting for women’s right to their own identity, but referring to her as a feminist is not entirely correct. With her sharp eye and black humour, she can be seen as something of a female Oscar Wilde. Her heyday was in the twenties and thirties and she has become something of a cult figure for generations of women. She was a highly productive writer and columnist producing a huge amount of short stories, poetry and articles.

Trained at the Göteborg Academy of Ballet Musical Programme, Sara Jangfeldt has previously performed in the musicals Evita and West Side Story at the Göteborg Opera. Earlier this year she performed in Chess at Cirkus and Godspell at Stockholms Parkteater.
