Musical. An amputated soul
This musical theatre piece is a part of The Göteborg Opera Young for young project, where young people in different age groups get involved in a production for The Göteborg Opera's Small stage.
In fall 2010, a drama competition for high school students resulted in the musical Lova & Sam, and last season 900 ten year-olds wrote and drew to create the musical theater piece Love is ...
For the season 2012/2013, the theme for the writing competition - for all high-school students in grade one in the Västra Götaland region - was courage. Mia Ringblom Hjertner, head of the Young, says: "A lot in art as well as life is about courage. The courage to choose, to dare, to endure. What happens when you're not brave? How do you find the courage?"
The winning contribution, "An amputated soul" written by 16-year-old Sofia Ringhage at the Lerum highschool, will result in a production where 10-15 pupils from the region act along with staff from The Göteborg Opera. There will be both educational shows and public performances.
