Carmen
Rather dead than tamed.
“Opera at its most dramatic.”— The Guardian, 2015
The independent Carmen is passion personified: wild, fearless and all-consuming. When she throws her rose to Don José, it is the prelude to a relationship that will end in tragedy. Glyndebourne’s full-blooded and visually spectacular production from 2002 has been hailed by critics and audiences alike. The French director, Marie Lambert, revives Sir David McVicar’s classic production in a version created especially for The Göteborg Opera.
