The introductions are popular, so come early. They take place either on the Small Stage or in the Opera Bar an hour before opera and dance performances (not, however on premiere or guest performance evenings). It does not cost anything extra, your ticket is valid for entry. The introduction takes about 30 minutes.
Discussions and seminars.
In connection with premieres open discussions are held. In these, for example, the conductor, the choreographer, or a soloist might talk about their work. The moderator is the Göteborg Opera's dramaturgist, Göran Gademan.
"When we had the discussion on the Marriage of Figaro, which is largely about the count and countess' shaky marriage, I invited a family therapist. The actors were given 20 minutes of therapy. It was fun,” he tells us.
These discussions take place on the Small Stage a week or two before the premiere.
