Children & youth.

The 2011/2012 season for a young public.

There are a whole host of activities organised for children and teenagers as part of the Unga project. The Göteborg Opera Children’s Choir, with around 30 members aged between eight and twelve, has already performed a number of concerts. Storytelling in the Foyer gives the youngest members of the audience a chance to listen to musical tales. School performances are sometimes held during the day on the Main Stage and we also provide guided tours for children of all ages.

Unga för unga (By the Young for the Young) continues and this year we have asked the third graders of the region to write and draw about the subject of “Love is…”. The eventual outcome will be a production inspired by the children’s texts and drawings. This season’s dance programme also includes a piece for the younger audience members. During the autumn, a production will be created for children in grades 4 to 6, featuring a mixture of styles ranging from pointe to sneakers.

Apply for organisers' subsidies.

If you live outside Göteborg municipality you can apply for money to travel to and from the Göteborg Opera. This is a subsidy that Västra Götaland region offers so that more children and young people will be able to enjoy cultural activities and events.
