Crazy for you

Musical: Wednesday, 20 january

A feel-good musical by George and Ira Gershwin. Music and lyrics by George and Ira Gershwin. Based on a book by Ken Ludwig.

The romantic comedy Crazy for You is a slice of pure joy – genuine entertainment with well-known music, witty dialogue and great dance numbers. All-in-all a spectacular tap musical with delightful gems by the Gershwin brothers. Someone to Watch Over Me, I Got Rhythm and They Can't Take That Away from Me are a few of the many musical highlights in this musical full of catchy tap numbers.

Crazy for You weaves together George and Ira Gershwin's 1930s hits into a story. Bobby, the son of wealthy man, is dispatched to a small town to close down the local theatre, where he of course falls madly in love with the theatre director's daughter, Polly. His duty is in conflict with his longing for love – and his passionate desire to dance. There's never been a problem that couldn't be solved with tap dance! A simple plot perhaps, but the show is a dazzling, heart-warmning, colourful declaration of love to the stage.
