DANCE Dance programme in three parts by Alexander Ekman/Medhi Walerski,
Jo Strømgren and Fernando Melo.
Premiere 6 december 2012
In a newly composed evening of dance based on the theme of homeland/belonging/alienation, Alexander Ekman’s / Medhi Walerski’s La La Land returns, together with Jo Strömgren’s Outskirts. Both works have been created specifically for The Göteborg Ballet, and both have been acclaimed by critics and public alike. A new creation by Fernando Melo, choreographer and dancer in The Göteborg Ballet, serves as a bridge between these playful items.
DANCE A dance programme in two parts by Sharon Eyal and Gai Behar /
Guy Weitzman and Roni Haver
World premiere 13 October 2012
A thought-provoking evening, where the choreographers explore alienation and identity from some very different angles using a combination of gravity, irony and humour. Native Israeli Sharon Eyal was the house choreographer for the Batsheva Dance Company for which she has created a number of critically acclaimed works which appeal to audiences and have the power to move them.
Roni Haver and Guy Weizman focus on contemporary subjects with the aim to inspire, confront and touch the audience. The recurring theme in their work is personal liberation. Mama I’m coming home is a creation about social identity, personal liberation and belonging.

The Rite of Spring / bODY_rEMIX
DANCE Dance programme in two parts by Marie Chouinard
Premiere 2 march 2013
When the internationally famous, award-winning Canadian choreographer Marie Chouinard is creating a new piece she focuses her artistic antennae on hidden dimensions. bODY_rEMIX is all about role reversal. It is feminine and brilliant, sophisticated, taut and, at the same time, painfully physical. 2013 it will be 100 years since the world premiere of The Rite of Spring. In this spring of the “Rite” we will present two world classics on Stravinsky’s ballet. In Chouinard’s version, the movements from 1913 are remixed for our time in a way which allows them to be reborn in a new harmonious context. The Göteborg Opera Orchestra plays the famous music.
